WALKING

On your doorstep you can enjoy a gentle stroll through woodlands and around
small lakes. You can then make your way down to the River Vilaine and follow
it as it meanders across open fields and past picturesque hamlets & villages.

A gentle stroll across local countryside

You could spend a month walking in the Loire Atlantique and Southern Brittany and never cross the
same path. There are 7000 miles of paths consisting of 800 walks that make their way through
unspoiled countryside, across deep forests, follow grand rivers and along the seashore.
There are over 50 special walking maps from all our local tourist information offices.

CYCLING

The Loire Atlantique / Southern Brittany is the cyclists paradise. On your doorstep you have a
cycle path adjacent to the River Vilaine where you can follow the meandering river in the direction
of the historic town of Redon and the coast or head north towards the city of Rennes.

You can design your own routes using the many rarely used minor roads and cycle past the
expanse of meadows & countryside and pass through the local quaint villages.

FISHING

Paimbu is a hamlet situated in a region named Les Trois Rivieres (The Land of the 3 Rivers),
the rivers Isac, Don & Brivet. Also with just a 5 minute stroll from La Cour you reach the banks of
the meandering River Vilaine as it flows towards Redon.

You can find great fishing lakes only a couple of minutes away at Maison
des Marais, just outside Masserac.

A happy French fisherman on the Vilaine

unspoiled countryside anglers fish for tasty carnivores such as Pike, Perch and Zander.

Heron on the River Vilaine

The Loire Atlantique is perfectly placed for the annual migratory flights. That means in spring and in
Autumn a wide range of species are ready and waiting to be spotted and ticked off your list. Our best
known area is the Regional National Park of Briere which has 42,000 acres of wetlands to be explored,
it is an important winter haven for Ducks & Geese, Sandpipers & Wading birds.
